Frequently Asked Questions:
Are you insured?
Absolutely. I’d be crazy not to be. I’m fully insured for public and personal liability.
Do you have back-up equipment?
I certainly do. I tend to shoot most of the day with one camera, as I find it more comfortable, but I do occasionally use two cameras. And I always have a spare in the bag. As they say, 3 is the magic number.
Can we print from the disk of photos or are the photos plastered with copyrights and so small that you need a magnifying glass to see them?
Unlike some photographers, I don’t see the point of giving my clients a disk of photos covered in copyright and so small you can’t do anything with them. The disk that you will receive contains both high resolution photos for you to print from and compressed photos ideal for sending via email or sharing over the internet.
How far do you travel?
How longs a piece of string? I travel just about anywhere. For all Weddings, travel within 100 miles of my home address in Kent is included. Anything over that there is a small surcharge added and overnight accommodation if needed.
What is the booking procedure?
Once you’ve got in touch and we’ve arranged a consultation to discuss your exact requirements, a non-refundable £300 deposit is required to secure your day along with a short booking form.
Do you take formal shots?
People tend to hire me for my contemporary documentary style of photography, but I do like to include some formals in the final set of photos. I also understand that some people from an older generation (not mentioning any names Mums and Dads) like to have some of the more traditional shots and it’s nice to keep them happy.
Can you try and summarise your Style?
There are a number of words I could use to summarise my style – reportage, documentary, contemporary – but I think my favourite is unobtrusive. I like to try and keep out the way to make sure I capture the day as it happens without too much intervention. I’ll pose the group shots and the bride and groom portraits but other than that I try and merge into the background. I’ve been to weddings as a guest in the past where the photographer seemed to take centre stage and dictate how the day played out. I can’t think of anything worse. It’s your day after all.
