Well that was more like it! What a year. So unbelievably grateful to finally have things back to ‘normal’ and for all my couples to be able to have the weddings they wanted with no compromises. I shot the most weddings I’ve ever done in one year – 36 – and every single one of them was a total pleasure to be part of. I even managed to block out a month or so right in the middle as our little boy Lenny was born. What an incredible journey parenthood is – yet another thing for me to feel incredibly grateful for.
As I move into my 14th year as a full time wedding photographer I’ve found compiling this selection of photos as hard as ever – it never seems to get any easier! I’ve decided to focus solely on some of my personal favourite moments – not all of them are super obvious weddings photos and some are kind of quietly poetic, but I feel this selection really showcases the sort of moments that drive me as a photographer. Hunting out these moments and being observant and present without interrupting and influencing a scene is really important to me and hopefully you’ll get a sense of that from these frames.
There is at least one photo from every wedding I photographed last year in this collection. Keep an eye on my ‘stories’ page for loads of amazing full wedding blogs coming soon. Until then, enjoy!
For the photographers – everything below was taken using the Canon R6 and a combination of the 35L, RF85 1.2 and the 17-40L. If you’re interested in improving your own visual storytelling then I’m really excited to share that my new masterclass is coming very soon! Head over to the AnyStory website for more information and your chance to find out when the course goes live and to take advantage of an incredible pre-sale offer…
