As a destination wedding photographer I get to travel all over the world photographing amazing weddings. Italy is hands down one of my favourite countries in the world, so when Lydia and John got in touch and asked if I’d travel to Florence for their wedding, I couldn’t believe my luck. First of all I just want to say that these guys are amazing. They were up for anything, super friendly, welcoming and, most importantly, had incredible taste in music! 😉 Photographing their wedding was an absolute pleasure.
The day started a little back to front. We headed off early to make the most of the beautiful streets of Florence – hoping to catch them as empty as possible whilst taking advantage of the beautiful early morning light – something very unique to Florence wedding photography. Before we headed out though Lydia and John wanted to do a ‘first look’. I’m a massive fan of this and for those of you who might not know what it is – basically they got ready separately without anyone seeing them and then I put them in a location back to back, counted down from 3 and let them turn around and see each other for the first time. It’s an incredibly intimate moment and something I love to photograph.
Once we were back from the centre of Florence we continued the wedding celebrations and ceremony at the stunning Riva Lofts. The day was an absolute blast and I can’t thank Lydia, John and all their friends and family enough for making me feel so welcome. Check out a few of my favourites from their wedding below…
