They capture the day perfectly! Thank you so much x I can’t stop going through them all!!
Gemma and Iain got married at one of my favourite London wedding venues – the awesome Bethnal Green Town Hall Hotel. I’ve photographed a lot of weddings at Town Hall Hotel and love it every time I get the opportunity. It seems to take on a different aesthetic each time I work there.
One of the biggest factors for successful wedding photos is to completely trust your photographer. You need to just let them crack on with the job at hand. I’m very fortunate that all of my couples give me this level of trust and Gemma and Iain are a no exception. They just let me get on with it! A few group shots and portraits but other than that it was pure documentary photography all day. This is when I’m really in my element!
After the ceremony we headed off to The Banker pub along the embankment in London. Such a cool location just under a bridge right on the river! The party went completely crazy as expected :) I had an absolute blast working with Gemma and Iain – congratulations once again guys and thank you for being awesome!
Check out some of my favourites below!
For the photographers; everything was shot using Fuji x-Pro2′s and a combination of the 18mm, 23mm, 35mm and 56mm prime lenses. Any questions about anything please don’t hesitate to ask.
Superbly observed and composed set of pictures Matt! Huzzah!
Brilliant set of images Matt. Some really lovely observations and great timing.
Matt, in our post wedding haze we were delighted with these but a year later we appreciate these even more. Of course they are beautifully shot but it’s what you managed to capture that makes these the best pictures I could have imagined. Those special moments, expressions and sense of what it felt like are all there for us forever. You managed all of this with no direction whatsoever and your intuition was spot. We trusted you to ‘do your own thing’ and let us focus on our day and you absolutely nailed it. Thanks for giving us something to take us back to our special day in a glance. Gemma and Iain.
