East Quay Wedding Photographer
Hi! I’m Matt Tyler and I’m a Kent based destination wedding photographer. I’m lucky enough to photograph weddings all over the UK, Europe and beyond. Click here to read more ABOUT me and the places I’ve been.
One of my favourite venues in the UK is East Quay Venue in Whitstable. I’ve been fortunate enough to be an East Quay wedding photographer on many occasions and always look forward to returning. Having this amazing venue walking distance from my house is a huge bonus!
I exclusively book 30 weddings each year and peak dates get booked up quickly. If you’re interested in booking me for your wedding or you’d like to request a copy of my latest brochure, head over to the CONTACT page.

Moments = Magic
I want you to have the best experience of your own wedding. That’s why 90% of the coverage will be pure documentary photography, allowing you to enjoy the day with as little interruption from me as possible. I’ll be hunting for moments from the minute I arrive to the minute I finish. Some of my favourite photos from East Quay weddings in the past 10 years are of the ‘in-between’ – those in-between moments when you’re least expecting anything to happen.
It’s important to allow a small amount of time for portraits. Down at the East Quay Venue this doesn’t need to be any more than about 30 minutes, and it can often be split into two fifteen minute sessions – usually one before you sit down for your wedding breakfast and another during the golden hour (if we’re lucky enough to get one). Being that close to the sea you’ve just got to make the most of it! As a passionate wedding photographer I just can’t let good light go to waste!

About East Quay Venue
This is a seaside venue in every sense of the word! Nestled in the beautiful little working harbour of Whitstable in Kent, UK, the East Quay Venue offers couples the chance to get married in the original home of the Seasalter and Ham Oyster Fishery Company.
As it reads on the East Quay website; “East Quay Venue retains the structural features and character from its coastal heritage past, offering a relaxed ‘shabby-chic’ ambience; a place that sits beside the beach and from where you can effortlessly wander to the water’s edge…whenever you choose.” I couldn’t have said it better myself!
This isn’t a traditional wedding venue – its got so much character from its historical past, with exposed woodwork, creaky floors and bags of gorgeous character. Hands down one of my favourite venues in the UK.
I’d love to chat to you about being your East Quay wedding photographer and hear how you’re hoping to use the incredible space!
Here are my top 5 reasons to have an East Quay Wedding:
“Matt instantly put us at ease, was a great communicator and was very interested in who we were and what we liked so that he could represent our day in the best way possible. From the moment he arrived, all the guests and I loved his welcoming, natural and noninvasive approach. The end product was just phenomenal. His style of photography really captures the true essence of the day, looking back at the photos was like reliving the whole day!”
